I travelled to Copenhagen on dialysis and wanted to share how it went, so you know what to expect before you go.
The dialysis care
The center is at Frederiksberg Hospital, a big medical complex. I'll be honest: sorting out the paperwork and lab results here got a little adventurous, and they are strict about Candida auris screening, so be well prepared when you reserve your dialysis. Once that was done, everything was fine.
The food
The food on dialysis was genuinely good. No complaints there.
What it costs
Denmark accepts the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). Without it, the price is 3.279 DKK per treatment (about 440 euros). Important: this center does not accept patients who are MRSA positive, so get your tests sorted before you travel.

Would I recommend Copenhagen?
Yes. It is a beautiful, calm Nordic city and the care was solid. Just be ready for the extra screening and paperwork, and sort your tests in advance.
We organise group trips for dialysis patients, so you do not have to plan it all alone.
