Dialysis in Lienz, Austria: Review of Bezirkskrankenhaus dialysis
My friend Andrej, a fellow dialysis patient who also helps with our reviews, travelled to Lienz on dialysis and shared how it went, so you know what to expect before you go. The dialysis center is in Lienz, a small town in the Austrian Alps (East Tyrol).
The dialysis care
The dialysis centre is part of Bezirkskrankenhaus Lienz. Really friendl stuff. Easy to reserve and communicate. But they don't have a lot of free space for holiday patients. Patients can use either treatment beds or chairs, depending on availability, and TVs are available in the treatment rooms.
The food
One thing to know: Andrej did not get any food during dialysis here, so bring your own snack for the session.
What it costs
Austria is in the EU, so if you are an EU patient you can use your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). Bring a valid card and it should cover your dialysis. Confirm the details when you book.
How to find the dialysis

Yes. If they have the space for you is a good dialysis center for visiting beautiful Alps.
